According to my mother, on that tragic day, the Hmong Pathet Lao fired guns upon the Hmong refugees who had sided with Americans. The bodies were tossed into the river. As people fled, thousands of sandals were stuck in the mud. Thank you very much for your post and the pictures. I think I will believe actual people who were actually there when it happened!!! Always remember that the history books hold a bias and may be erroneous, afterall, they are written by men.
